Ed, the Sony was the CPD1302A. You can find it many places for just under
$600, if you look. I built the cable used to connect the Sony to the ST, and
it has a switch on it that selects from monochrome and color modes. I bet
the Omniswitch would work, however.
Its specs are something like 50Hz-100Hz vertical scanning, 15-38KHz

horizontal scanning, and 900x600 resolution (I took it to 1024x768 and it was
relatively sharp).
